AP392 - Belarus 2006 20Ru One Thousand And One Nights Fairy Tale Silver UNC

This issue from Belarus is devoted to the wonderful and enduring story of "The Fairy Tales of 1001 Nights" and its author, the Persian Queen Scheherazade. Within the oriental ornamental design of the reverse are elements from the fairy tales of Scheherazade: the Sheik's palace and the face of Scheherazade himself. Rotating the coin 180 degrees produces an eerie change in the pair of eyes looking out of the coin! Along the upper edge of the coin is the text "1001 Nights" in Belarusian. The design is also decorated by the blue zircon. The obverse of this 2006 dated coin features in the central design field a young girl and boy, sitting on the moon under a starry sky, reading the open book they are holding in their laps. Above this is the coat of arms of the Republic of Belarus. Underneath their feet is the year of issue 2006. In a semi circle around the top half in Cyrillic, or Russian letters are the words for the Republic of Belarus. Again in Cyrillic letters along the lower edge of the coin are the words for twenty rubles. Each coin is encapsulated and comes with a Certificate of Authenticity.
